RINCON 2012 was a blast!
Thursday night Mark and I
flew in to Tucson where Matt Nielson was nice enough to pick us up and take us to the Hotel. Before bed we scoped out the lovely con space and
sorted out our schedule for the next morning.
Friday we
held two panels: Inclusiveness in Gaming and the Story Games Dungeon. Attendance was a little low, but both were a success. After the Story Games Dungeon we grabbed a quick bite to eat with Ben Woerner and rushed back and
ran 2 sessions of Our Last Best Hope with Brian Poe. Both tables were full of
Big Damn Heros who managed to save the world! Then there was a
late night session of Dungeon World that Mark ran for some of the RinCon staff and a few other night owls...There may be a new tradition of late night DW developing here... And finally we made a
2am food run with Ben Woerner and Jason Corley to BK's Tacos! Mm-mm-M!
Saturday Mark had his work cut out for him with the
GM's conference, RPG design Panel, & Kickstarter panel. He shared the table with special guests James Ernest, Patrick Nickell, John Wick, Ken St. Andre, Michael Mindes of Tasty Minstrel Games, James Ernest of Cheapass Games, & Patrick Nickell of Crash Games. Somewhere in there we also managed to have lunch and enjoy the
Houses of the Blooded LARP and
playtest the Houses card game (So. Totally. Awesome!). And before the night was through Mark
ran OLBH, and I popped in to
play the Time Traveler's LARP.
Sunday morning we packed up our bags,
playtested Eternity, grabbed a quick lunch at egees with Jason Corley, and made it to the airport just in time!
Friday's sessions of OLBH
-WOOO! What a fun-packed trip!-
The staff and organizers of RinCon were Gracious, friendly, and helpful. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to come back again next year!
