Masks: A New Generation, a tabletop RPG of young superheroes, is up on Kickstarter now!our own Masks page. (You can even check out this interview with Brie Sheldon in which she asks me a few questions about the game and I answer with far too many words!) I started working on Masks because of a picture from an issue of All New X-Men, with a young traveled-forward-in-time Cyclops kissing the teen-girl clone-of-Wolverine X-23. I saw the picture on Google+ in October 2013, in a post by John Stavropolous, followed up by comments calling for Mutanthearts, some version of Monsterhearts that would let this glorious, messy situation occur in role-playing. And I was off! Two years, two composition notebooks, and many, many Google Doc revisions later, Masks is here. It turned into something different from Mutanthearts, and it's all the better for it. Beyond the superheroes, beyond the awesome action and the fun and the aliens, Masks is a game about learning who you are, and choosing what the best version of yourself looks like. I'm so grateful that I get to share that with everybody. (And that I get to share the superheroes and the awesome action and the fun and the aliens, too.) Thanks for all your support, and I can't wait to see where and how far Masks goes in the coming days!
